We started our verb study with creating sentences as if we were a super hero. What would we do? How would we do it? Some of the responses were "FREEZING the bad guys and then THAWING them when they promise to be good", "THROWING fire", "TALKING out the problems of the world" (Thanks MLK) and I just have to share my favorite from last year (which was a big burst of laughter on the carpet again this year) "HUGGING & KISSING bad guys and SHARING love"-- I just can't get enough! After we made these sentences we met our friend VICKY THE VERB. Vicky can do ANYTHING! We had a great time thinking of all the things she can do--run, jump, learn, love, hug, skip, karate-kick, sketch, create--to name a few of her talents!
Today we decided to take our action verbs outside and see and hear them in our world. On our way to the path we listened to the water BUBBLE, FLOW, RUN, TRICKLE, and watched it SHINE, SPARKLE, RACE-- to name a few. As we continued down the path we saw leaves running, wind blowing, ants marching, squirrels "running for their lives" and birds flying. We listened to leaves rustle, friends talk, birds sing. Once we were down by the lake we saw turtles peeking, geese flying, fish swimming, grass growing-- and many more!!
What a great day exploring nature and our learning.
I hope to see you all tomorrow at our Famous American Living Museum--and if not I will be sure to be adding TONS of pictures! I can't wait to see everyone's costumes & hear their speeches.
